Which will either show an increase, or will show that crime also includes releasing fraudulent statistics.
 
I know someone that was hijacked and killed in Gauteng last year. This person died of his injuries a few days after the incident. The death certificate read, died of natural causes.

On investigation it seems this is now the norm, and I have heard of a few cases like this. The parents of the deceased, gave up long ago trying to change the death certificate. Let alone the police never even did one little bit of investigation. After all why should there be an investigation if somebody died of natural causes. The killers are still running around fourways, more people have probably died since too of "natural causes. "

Now wonder the crime statistics look like they coming down, go figure

And yet there are STILL as high a number of murders as they report, even with fraudulent causes of death.

What with AIDS, emmigration and murder, SA would be empty if it were not for the illegal immigrants.
 
Its sad, thats all. That things like this are happening and will continue happening in SA.

I have never believed the police stats, they are shocking enough as they are, but still a far cry from what they should be.

You see if someone's death certificate reads murderd, he/she immediately becomes part of the police stats, which in turn needs a case number that its being investigated. Much easier for everybody to just say, died of natural causes. Frightning and shocking, thats what it is. :eek::eek::eek:
 
Left arm doesn't know what the right arm is doing ... but at least they are talking to the media about it instead of saying it isn't an issue, it's progress. Hope those Scorpions badger Selebi until he can't put a foot wrong without someone knowing ... maybe he'll be forced to cut his ties with the underworld if they watch him closely enough :D

My mother passed away not so long ago and on her death certificate it says:

Cardia Arret as the cause of death.

It's completely pointless to try and have it changed.
 
I suppose the benefit of controlling crime stats is being able to say what you like and when you like. Up/Down whatever - I say prove it - NOW!
 
Not sure about everyone else, but where I live:

1) I see at least 2 metro police every *day*
2) I see MAYBE, if its a lucky month, 2 police per *month*
3) I hear of at least 5 murders in the area I frequent every month.

So, where are the police? Why can we have a major swamping of JMPD but not cops?
