Hey guys,

I have a slight problem with the BOINC manager for SETI@home. I am not too clued up with firewalls and opening ports etc on a router and was wondering if you can help.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium and added the BOINC applications to the allow list on the Windows Firewall. I'm also running avast! antivirus but I don't think that has to do with anything. I have a Planet ADE-4400 Router and it's running on a 4Mbps line. I keep on getting an error message of a failed download due to http error.

This is a bit of it:

2007/06/08 11:45:42 PM|SETI@home|[file_xfer] Started download of file 21ja05aa.3813.31536.134656.3.164
2007/06/08 11:48:13 PM|SETI@home|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed download of 21ja05aa.3813.31536.134656.3.164: http error
2007/06/08 11:48:13 PM|SETI@home|Backing off 1 hr 52 min 7 sec on download of file 21ja05aa.3813.31536.134656.3.164

Can anyone please help? I'm really desperate to contribute something to science!

We are back up after some additional complications. There will be a period of "catch up" before things are back to normal.

They busy with server upgrades I think.

If you want to fold for science, try this rather (unless you really think you going to find an alien signal :p )
