Well good on the police then. All the need to do now, is put them in the back of a police van, with a spare wheel (just the rim would do fine), and then go and drive through the veldt at high speed!
 
Hope they stole his bible, so he can get a free truthfull one from the commision to reconcile his soul. :D
 
We have so far recovered two television sets, one DVD set, the Nobel peace prize won by Tutu, some jewelleries and the vehicle used for the robbery

It took less time to catch the criminals than it takes for the police to even show up at your house if your are a mere pleb.
 
Tutu was in Britain last month to deliver a lecture and attend a ceremony.

He has since not returned to South Africa.

*Also, everyone and their mom knows Tutu's house in Soweto. It is down the street from Madela's and next to the little eatery for the tourists. :D These crooks were out to just be plain mean (or stupid) about their breakin I think.
 
What made this dude so iconic, he must be loaded that he can flip around the world and be out of the country for a month or more.

Each award can be given to a maximum of three recipients per year. Each consists of a gold medal; a diploma; the extension of Swedish citizenship; and a cash grant. The grant is currently approximately 10 million SEK, slightly more than €1 million (US$1.4 million). Nah Kilo, don't go there. It has nothing to do with his race or religion. What I am asking, and always do when I see a pastor/priest/bishop/cleric/rabbi/etc driving a fancy car and living in a big house, is how/why/when did they get those things.

Now I understand US$1.4 goes a long way here in SA, but like your quote says the money was meant to fund further work. Is it doing that or did it buy a big house in Bishops Court?

And even more than that. It is my feeling (and only mine so don't go calling anyone else bad words) that people who dedicate their lives to social upliftment (which is what religion does) shouldn't be living the lifestyle of a rich celebrity.

I don't know, maybe its just my distorted way of thinking...

From the wiki there is no stipulation that the money must 'fund further work,' it is his to spend as he sees fit (and should think the house in BC is paid for by the church not Tutu.)

Tutu is a celebratory (with I would think dozens of celebratory perks)... they came to him through his nature (not his money grubbing ways.)

Yes I agree ostentatious display of wealth by the church is 'uncomfortable' but not really [-]a[/-] the topic of discussion...
