Why the heck do SABC still insist on calling Pretoria Tshwane?
And ... then why the heck are they not calling Johannesburg Ekhuruleni?

Disgusting.

Why must I as a TV license payer be subjected to this discrimination?

Complain to God. Just as much chance of an answer as complaining to SABC.
 
Ekhuruleni is not Johannesburg, It is the name of the East Rand municipality (Kempton, Germiston, Boksburg etc.)

That you don’t find it disgusting is your opinion. Why change names of places just because you can change them... The millions of rands going into the change of a name can be better spend elsewhere... It is not as if the name Pretoria had some political background that it needed to be changed.

I often get the feeling that government is simply out to pick a fight, by changing (at huge cost) things just because they can. Demolishing statues, changing names, enforcing quotas into sports, etc etc. And all this without addressing the cause off the problems, poor education, bad public health, crime... not even willing to make the effort to give the public servant sector their 12% pay increase...

It's easier for govamint to change names, than have to worry about poverty, housing, eductation, etc.
 
Broadcasting complaints commision anyone? Read through quickly, never saw it...so yeah, there it is...doubt if it wil help you much..We should make up funny names for traditional black villages and see how they like it hehe...only joking...?

Hahaha STFU its not disgusting in anyway. They use the word on the news, they can, its not offending anyone, cant see how you offended or why its disgusting. Maybe you can explain it, and not by adding the damn 12% increase coz it has nothing to do with anything in this topic.

It's related, and name changes cost money that could rather go to people who deserve it and are living off nearly nothing.

Now the Anc says they have money to waste on name places but not to pay personnel like nurses, teachers and policemen.

Everything can be related to everything, that why we have topics, this particular one is not about nagging about name changes and its costs and monotonous ramblings by other forumites. Its about him finding the use of the names disgusting... and him wanting to complain.

Oh and is offensive to us who actually care about the history of this country. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the Apartheid area, Pretoria was there even in the Zuid-Afrikaanse Repebliek, long before the Anglo Boer war and the struggle to democracy...

And whats so "disgusting" about the name Tshwane? Even the oke with the red wig and the facelift on SABC 2 says Tshwane.
