City of Cape Town to lay charges against party
June 12, 2007, 13:00

Helen Zille, the Cape Town mayor, says the City of Cape Town is set to lay charges with the police today against Badih Chaaban, the Africa Muslim Party councillor.

Zille says Chaaban has approached six DA councillors to cross the floor in September to the National People's Party.

Zille says according to sworn evidence that they have received from councillors, Chaaban is currently paying councillors between R5 000 and R10 000 a month until the September floor crossing period. The mayor says Chaaban's move goes against the prevention and combating of corrupt practises act.

What is this, hostile take-over attempt number 9, I am loosing count.
They want the gravy train route to Cape Town restored very badly it seems.

Hehe, doubt very much that they are bankrolling this. ;)

Chabaan was also an associate of that Ukrainian recently gunned down in Milnerton. Hope they throw the book at him. He's also up to no good in the City with control of the central Green Market Square.
