Plasma Screensavers

It's nice. Let me know when you find a HDTV one juggy.Looks interesting.I would love to get the fish one for my LCD.

Considering plasmas have a finite life-span wouldn't it more sense to switch it off?

Good thought Bwana. But it would look nice on the LCD of mine should they do become available.:)
Like having a big fish tank.

...and you don't have to clean it and you won't find dead fish when you get back from work - I want one! can dump that bloody aquarium of mine.

Come to think of it, I can make one myself and run it on the HDD DVD player. - Ahh a project for the weekend!!

More like late at night playing trivial pursuit with the gas heater on. Nice to have something mindless on the screen instead of MTv or the likes.

I will grow tired of my plasma and technology will advance way before the plasma's finite years run out.

how many hours can one these tv's run for?

most ppl upgrade their tv's every 5 years or less
Most claim 60,000 hours iirc. That's nearly 14 years at 12 hours a day. Plenty for me.

Panasonic: States in new specifications that new plasma TVs and monitors are good to 60,000 to half life.
Sony: Now out of the plasma market. Does not list a figure for LCD lineup.
Samsung: Lists 60,000 hours for plasma lineup.
Pioneer: States 60,000 hours of use in their new 2005 models.
Sharp LCD panels: States 60,000 hour life.

A plasma will last around 7 years if left on all the time. If you only watch around 5 or 6 hours a day then you can multiply that by 4. So around 25 to 30 years on avergae use.
