If it is an internal government thing then what is the problem? I'll start to get worried if they start keeping tabs on citizens in a similar way to Bush's wiretaps...

But on the other had what are these classified documents? A government really should have very little it needs to keep secret.
 
Is the civil service so crap, untrustworthy and corrupt that we need NIA goons to check over them ???.

As long as there is parliamentary oversight over the NIA then perhaps it is a good thing to weed out the corrupt and incompetent.

Only problem is, the more power the NIA gets, the less it will want to be subjected to parliamentary oversight.
