City of gold...
I just got this strange email from someone advertising office 2007 enterprise for only 400 bucks.
:(Doesn't one have to buy an enterprise licence for it.
It links to a site, the site has movies, music, operating systems and a lot more for next to nothing.
Is this legal software?
Has anyone bought from them?

this is what the email contained
"Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition - only R400-00
All latest software also available from Autodesk, Macromedia, Adobe, Symantec , etc.
Visit us at www.dvdrebel.co.za"

We will continue to offer you the latest DVD releases (many not even released yet), software and music releases at low prices and with excellent service.
I'm thinking maybe not too legal ;)

It's an SA company that can accept Paypal - makes you think.

If it is too good to be true, it usually is.

Ja, haha.

Well for a pirate place, they certainly aren't cheap

I also used to get spammed with tons of these emails, but the thing is they aren't just plain copies, they have the box or at least the DVD with the right cover.. I wonder if its all faked. Someone bought from them yet?

EDIT: Well they say "all DVD's are currently shipped from London" which explains them being not even released yet, if they mean in SA. It would also make it a bit cheaper...

Wait. No, the site looks like complete crap, not many products, some random stuff not even sold anymore. R300 for Vista Ultimate, ja.. whatever. Do they even deliver or do they just take your money free of charge?

hmmm, I see that site admin is Jack Sparrow!

arrrrrrr!!

Not much info about the DVD region ets.

"Vista Ultimate 32/64bit for R300"

"(we do not charge for shipping)

If you do not see what you need, simply email us, we can get you anything you need."

Can they get you a valid serial key?

Hi There
How is it possible that the software can be so cheap?
Vista Ultimate goes for over ÂŁ300, you are selling it for R300? Is it pirated?

Thanks

I still do not get why a SA site will use PayPal. The schlepp involved for me to use a company that only works 1/2 in SA is prohibitive.

SA users can register for pay pal. They just can't receive money and needs a credit card

I would report them. The site is not hosted locally and is obviously a scam. Once they get your card, you are buggered. Hosted on ns1.siteground176.com. The scammer has just registered a .co.za to try and make it look legitimate to SA customers.

I am well aware of that. However, how the heck can a SA company afford to pay its bills if it cannot get its money out of paypal. Last time I checked, City Power did not accept PayPal.

guys whats the big deal we all use pirated goods

if you want pirate stuff get it from them

personally i prefer down.cd because i know they wont rip me off :)

The difference is in the selling of it as legitimate goods (again, assuming they are not legit - no facts on that yet).
If I want Levis for example, I dont want to pay R800 for ripoffs.
If I want ripoffs that say Levis, then I will pay R100.

Simple, really.
