I know I've complained no end about problems with VM and mobile number portability.. It seems though that there's still more to complain about.
Basically it seems to me that VM has some problems with numbers ported away from them.
I ported to MTN from VM.. (I was initially on Vodacom) my brother also ported from VM to MTN.. (that was his first port - i.e., his number was originally VM)
Now here's the problem: My sister who is still on VM cannot phone or sms me..
If she sends a sms to my number it just never arrives, if she tries to call me she gets a voice saying "The number you have dialled does not exist"..
She has exactly the same problem if she tried to call or sms my brothers number.
However I can phone or sms her - as can my brother..
I can also phone / sms my dads Vodacom phone.. my dad can phone / sms me..
So basically my logical conclusion is that the problem lies either specifically with her phone.. or with VM as a whole, seeing as I have no problems calling or receiving calls from Vodacom or other MTN phones I cannot see how the problem could be with MTN or with the "porting database"..
Unfortunately I don't have another VM number I can't test if the problem might be unique to my sisters phone...
Anyone else experiencing problems something like this?
