Is there light at end of the search engine tunnel?

Good grief, its embarrassing to learn of Marketing companies that give such bad service.
Gives they guys that actually know what they are doing and can provide results a bad name.

Top SEO providers

Could anyone point me to a excellent SEO provider. I own a development company, and have tried numerous means of SEO some work better than others, but it is a full time job and i simply dont have the time to do it (or the inclination).

Slightly OT rant: Reading South African articles about the Internet is sometimes like a blast from the past. The cliches and phrases used, the wording, the topics discussed --- all deja vu, the rest of the world went through that phase years ago. Catch up, for God's sake. Every damn business should have had their first crappy websites already five years ago, the rest of the world has long since stopped even saying such things 'cos it's a given.

Its quite sad really, guess we know who to blame for it though. :D

We have this problem all the time. Clients come to us, having been burned by other claimed SEO providers and we have to pick up the pieces. That's why I always tell them that SEO is not a standalone product. It's part of an integrated online marketing solution. Many smaller hospitality establishments doesn't have the budget to compete with the larger portals and that's where the problem comes in. You will get what you pay for.

That doesn't mean that they can't effectively market their establishment online though. It's up to the professional online marketer to determine by doing research, what the best options would be.

Pricing is also all over the place and sometimes people's jaws drop when a proper outfit charges proper fees. The only way to justify costs, is to show proven results. Not just in targetted traffic, but in conversion. If you get a client 300% more traffic, but no additional enquiries, it doesn't mean anything.

There's too much misinformation out there on SEO and it's hurting the industry... I want to call upon web dev companies out there to stop offering SEO services if they don't know what they're doing. Rather refer it to someone who specialises in it! You will in fact be able to keep your client happy and receive continued business, not burn them and lose them forever!
