My son's school was visited today by some union leaders who demanded to speak to the principal (during school hours). The kids were all asked to stay in their classes. The thugs wanted an explaination of why the school was operational and why the teachers were not striking...

Sounds like they are desperate. No such thing as a right to work? Extortionists.

My son's school was closed again this morning - having been open yesterday for one day - because of personal threats to the head and teachers. Parents were SMSed - come and fetch your child immediately.

Its pathetic, I still say the government should declare that nobody is allowed to intimidate schools etc. and that strikers aren't allowed within e.g. 100m of a school, then have riot police, the army etc. on standby to deal with them if necessary, this shouldn't be tolerated.

Taxi and unions - South Africa's own mafia... it's all a "protection" racket.
