ANC the heat is on.... lot of ppl are waiting for you to fall and many are praying (and collection muti) for you to succeed.

Which one shall it be?
 
We will succeed despite ourselves.

The problem is at what cost?
How much broken infrastructure, how many houses NOT built, how much wasted that could have gone to education, health?

Yeah, we will host it, but we will be paying for it for decades to come.

how was this phaqued up? this is a considerable difference! When did we first bid for the competition?
At this rate we will be lucky with 200K visitors - that said, hope our airports can even handle that reduced amount!

I wonda how this will screw up the models which have been built in terms of job creation etc?
 
u know what kills me with the metro cops :

they are all over place ticketing ppl for not wearing seatbelts, smooth tyre blah blah

why are they not concentrating on the real problems such as crime

i understand ppl not wearing there seatbelt is illegal but its getting stupid all idiot fines for dumb stuff while there are murder rapes etc happening

You do realize that the Metro cops don't do that line of work, they exclusively look at traffic related transgressions. If you want more crime prevention complain to the SAPS.
 
Serious crimes are a symptom of a rot in society.
While I do not argue that we do not need more police etc, it is also not right to let the small things go.

Junior watches daddy's flagrant disregard for the law and police while driving, and junior grows up with a disregard for the law.

It is hopeless for us to want to live in a society where we have no crime, and yet complain when we get fined for breaking the law.

How often have I heard people say
"In Singapore, if you throw a sweet poaper on the ground, you will be fined -yet in SA people rape and murder!". Well, what are these people actually saying?

Then they should be pulling over unroadworthy, reckless taxis etc.

Ah, but it will take a few monumental c0ckups by the ANC for them to lose power. And that is what all South Africans NEED.

I saw a car the other day held together with packing tape with biblical passages painted on each panel - good luck with that one in a accident buddy. :rolleyes:

Get all the death traps off the roads, then the cops wont have that to waste their time on.

Private cars should be pulled over for that too but I think taxis, buses etc. should be held to a higher standard and inspected much more rigorously.

Think I've seen the same one or something similar, didn't remember the biblical references though, maybe that's a recently added safety feature. :rolleyes: Well they've got crumple zones at least, they just forgot the safety cell. :D :p

You might be thinking of the car where the whole back end is packing tape. This one with the prayers is a different one. :eek:

And we come full circle. Metro police must continue doing what they do while we have such a disregard for road rules.

Is it OK to speed? Some people will claim that a M5 can safely do 80 in a 60 zone. And a taxi should do 50.
All of that, too, is BS. Makes no difference to the pedestrian that you run over if its a luxury sedan or a broken down toyota.
If people are that adamant that we should spend more on police and less on metro police, then here is an idea - "obey the road rules".
