MTN invests in own fiber network

I was wondering who was laying fibre in Sandton. I see the digging every day on the way home.

Although a partnership between Vodacom and MTN can't be good. I like the idea of both of them laying their own fiber and pushing competition!

Although ANYTHING will be better than going over Telkom's network...
 
One thing that is funny to me is that we always hear that Vodacom want to do something only to hear a weak or so later that MTN has already done it...This counts for new products also. Vodacom always release new products only to find out that (in most cases) MTN has silently introduced the same product a week or so earlier!!

Thats because MTN is number 1! :D
 
I would be happier if they would fix the dam telephone network in Cape Town first
 
Erm, MTN may release it a week earlier (and if it's so silent they should really fire their marketing team), but Vodacom certainly top whatever they release by far. Small fibre-network vs. countrywide network.
 
About time. They put out the ad for potential tenders yonks ago.
