A new television station by Sunday

great idea - sad that ICASA drags its heels... still they have to protect thei hand that feeds

Now this is where our TV license money should be going to as well.

If we have to pay TV license fees, ICASA should set up an independent TV license authority to collect TV license fees which should then be distributed fairly to all public/community TV broadcasters, and not just to the SABC.

Do you need to pay with an arm, a leg, both, or does a kidney form part of the transaction?

I would have thought that a big company would sponsor this station ... perhaps iBurst (40Mb account I assume is for LSM 3-7, some of whom will be in Soweto) or Sentech (they should just sponsor the bandwidth for them) or one of the providers wanting to get into that market. What a great way to tell the community that you support them plus they would have targeted advertising on this channel I'd have thought. Just sad that the volunteers only get money for transport and food ... some of those rich new elite should get behind this project IMO.

I suppose if this was SandtonTV you'd see the rich elite rallying behind the station. Some people forget where they come from (or are probably ashamed of where they come from).:sick:
