So far I think amatomu.com is quite far ahead of Afrigator...
I use Amatomu all the time to check up on stats and see what else is going on in the local blogs...
I see MyBroadband suddenly jumped up the listings, did you by any chance move the tracking code or was it from the redesign?
It was quite a marked difference

RPM, I recall you mentioning that Amatomu was hosted internationally... but I did a quick whois and saw that their nameservers are pointing to datapro.co.za
They must be hosting locally now?

I had a quick look at some of the blogs listed .......... most are dead boring and flooded with advertising for crap you don't need, but might want.

Sorry but i disagree, i run a purely local content site but sure as **** we don't host locally - cost and service levels play the part.

Sounds more like you are trying to justify being to "cheap" to host locally.
Having South Africa content does not mean it is a local site. We are all at the mercy of Telkom ........
Can you still remember the backlash when MyADSL was moved offshore ?
I do understand the need to be local, and the request from users to have the sites locally hosted.
MyADSL is indeed locally hosted and look at the support it gets. One of the largest sites in SA.
The more SA sites the better, but why not choose a international site over a local site and take all your friends with. Facebook being an example of being popular with South Africans, but hosted overseas, there are "local" alternatives, hosted overseas, maybe if those "local" ones were hosted locally they would get a slight better support.
People would realize they can actually upload alot with their local only accounts for example.
Telkom complain that their international access is limited, but they aren't making it much better by forcing people to setup these traffic heavy sites overseas anyways.. lol, who sees the logic in that?
