I have been having problems with playing games on my samsung 22" LCD. Either the games only support 1280x1024 or 1024x768 or they don't run at all. Anyone know of any way to sort this out. I had a 19" wide LCD before and could play at loads of different resolutions. Now it's all messed up.

If the game doesn't support widescreen, more often than not there's a hack for it to support it. Sometimes it'll hack the game to be playable in true widescreen and other times it'll chop off the sides. Check the above link to find if a hack is available for the game you're playing.

Buy an 8800GTX? What graphics card are you running? I loathe the native res of higher resolution monitors, makes games either look like a badly resized jpeg or a powerpoint presentation.

nice one. I also noticed if I change the cable from the DVI to VGA, then all the resolutions return. that's make the DVI useless then.

I got a 7600GS which I will upgrade to a X19650Pro or a 8600GTS. I can get later for around R1900. Seeing what the new DX 10 radeon cards do first though BUT THAT"S A WHOLE OTHER DISCUSSION.

thanks chaps.
