Thanks in advance for any advices you can give me and forgive me If I don't use the proper terms I'm a complete ignorant when it comes to hardware issues.The bios was flashed last week at a repair shop after I caught a virus...they said.Now my computer should read in the system display 1.44mhz but now it reads 902 mhz.So it means I lost power right?What could I do?And what could I tell them at the shop they should be doing.Thank you for your help.

Hi Robfind. Welcome to MyADSL. I don't want to harsh or mean, but even to the most trained person, your post and what you are trying to explain makes absolutely no sense at all.

I hope you get your pc fixed, if you don't get it fixed at the shop, don't be a fool, take it somewhere else. I wish I was there to help you dude, really I do ;)
 
you mean ghz... if they flashed the bios, it should fix cpu display problems... my guess is you took it to a budget PC store and they thought they'd swap the CPU. It's the only thing I can think of... besides manually setting CPU wrong in the BIOS.

I think he's talking about the CPU speed.

I ran my own computer company back when I was young, say 10 yeats ago, you'd be amazed at the problems clients describe. You need to learn to understand human talk.

I bet Toyota feel the same when I try describe a problem with my car.

Problem, don't flash the BIOS to try to get rid of a virus. You'll probably end up doing more damage than the virus can.

I take it you mean 1.44Ghz and you're probably talking about the CPU. Advice, get a Core 2 Duo or something. Other than that I have no clue what you just said. :D
 
It could be his problem is the FSB (Front Side BUS) speed was changed on his motherboard and as a result his CPU speed has come down.

I remember an AMD 2400+ (2000Mhz) was running at 1800Mhz straight out of the box when I purchased it a long time back..

I found that FSB was running at 333Mhz instead of 400Mhz. Changing this to 400 in the BIOS resulted in my CPU clock speed of 2000Mhz :)

Johnny, what FSB would a Venice 3000+ AMD64 run at? My CPU only clocks at 1.85Ghz, is that normal?

Bare in mind your processor is 64bit and is still probably way better than a 2400+ 2000Mhz with all it's other features. Clock speed is not the only NB part of a processor.
