Can this be done?

In other words, you are recording onto a PVR and sending that data to an instrument that will read it? Thinking AppleTV here...
 
Yes you can. Get a wireless transmitter/reciever. You get them in usb now a days
 
Using VLC or VLS, its pretty simple to do. I suppose aslong as no one outside of the property can view it, its legal (providing you have a valid TV lisence ofcourse).
