40% of UK Muslims want Sharia

Before I might've disagreed with you but its really getting ridiculous now, if people don't want to live in a civilised manner in a civilised country why should the rest of us put up with them? To anyone who tries to twist my words I don't mean all Muslims, just the Sharia-advocating types.

Well I mean anyone who disagrees with their host country. These idiots must remember they are guests in the UK. Who the hell do they think they are. Just a clear message that Islam wants to take over the world.

Clearly there isn't one but would you consider Sharia civilised?

If someone is born elsewhere and they get citizenship they are still guests and that citizenship can be revoked at any time, these people have become citizens by the goodness from the UK gvt. Maybe they should acknowledge that?

I think there is a difference between ideally liking something and forcing it upon others. Most people want to be rich but it doesn't mean that most of them will steal from others. However since Britain is a democracy, the more

country. I don't think they will ever reach a majority though. Its difficult though. For example foreigners in SA would love to have their language recognised by the authorities and TV/Radio stations but they don't expect that. Do these 40% Muslims expect that Britain will go Shariah?
The problem also lies with the reduced influence of religion in public life.
Britain is a Christian country and strong pro-Christian or pro-Anglican
official soundbytes or headlines might let those who are pro-Shariah
realise that they are not in a Godless-void but in a country with established
customs and religion (even if not practiced by many).

Even if that's only their ideal its still quite a disturbing ideal you have to admit. Generally the more radical people are the higher their expectations are for compliance by everyone else. And they often don't limit themselves to democratic means, as 7/7 showed.
Would it make any difference? As long as its not Sharia its unacceptable to this 40% it seems. I could understand your point with moderates but once you start advocating Sharia you're generally not that tolerant by definition.
No, but I don't find the nanny-, spy-state favoured in the UK civilised either. I do think the typical Muslim state is often primitive and barbaric, but I've also seen non-Muslim people in western countries seriously proposing we follow aspects of their criminal code.
We draw the line at 90 days detention without charge (or in the case of the US indefinite detention), perhaps a little local torture or just shipping you off to a country that doesn't have silly ideas like opposing torture.
I do oppose silly rules that dictate that Muslim children cannot wear traditional dress to schools in a western country, just as I'd expect to be able to wear my western clothes in their country. Whether they'd allow this is not important because we and our countries are allegedly better than they are and therefore we should be behaving better than them and treating them better than their country would treat us. Instead some people can't wait to sink to their level or lower.
