Contradicting/refuted news stories

I ave noticed that the TV news is often a day behind on these stories... but they seem to get it right at least. On the net, there is no time for confirmation.
 
ag - its been this way for years.
The first report is by someone who wants to talk - the second is an interview with someone covering his a$$.

If they WERE planning this, they would deny it until the last moment, as it would likely lead to a fat run of selling Ronts, so I am not sure......
