Spy software ‘raises risk of cyber crime’

when i doubt speak to someone in the bank.

Unfortunately this is once again old news its been happening for a while.

You have to be diligent, I have caught out a few attempts already myself. Just the other day I got a phone call offering me a subscription. I checked on the website of said company and it was legit. Then afterwards I was asked to "confirm" my credit card expiry date. Alarm bells in my head. I asked the person why. They said they need it for the installments to come off. I asked why I must confirm they said they got the details already on their system as I have used it with them before and thats how they got my details... when in reality I didnt use my card there at all and nobody else did either. I told them to get lost and that they are mad and they didnt even try to sell it to me further... but they will catch someone.

With all things in life a little common sense can go a long way. Phishing emails are also fast becoming a mojor problem. The email normally asks you to update your internet banking details otherwise your account will be suspended and the included link takes you to a page that is almost an exact copy of the legit banking site.

Don't be fooled. Always remember your bank will NEVER send you a link in an email to update your details. Always type the bank url into your browser yourself or bookmark the website for easy access.

I'm still wondering how these con's manage to send you the scam page for your specific bank and not any other bank
