Knott-Craig ready to serve ICASA

Talk about putting the fox in charge of the hen house

Is he willing to open up his personal investment portfolio for public scrutiny?

The plot continue to thicken

Knott-Craig jnr is the MD of iBurst and the father is willing to be the chairman of the regulator.

Vodacom are already inbed with iBurst reselling the product of their competator.

ICASA doesn't need someone who headed a big corporate.
ICASA needs someone with a big stick who'll beat the living hell out of all those asleep on the job, incompetent and lazy ANC lackeys so that they are actually forced to do their job.
If you can get someone to do the 2nd part successfully, I couldn't care if it's Bill Gates himself. If AK-C can do that, he's got my vote....

If you have not actually read the article, I recommend actually reading it: the article does not imply or say that AK-C will be employed by !CASA.

Paris Mashile responded to what AK-C said about !CASA's lack of competence, Paris Mashile joked that AK-C might one day have Paris' current job, and AK-C said he was willing to oblige...

Sorry, my bad. Haven't read to the end... the first part is misleading.

But I still stand by my post, if he decides to go to !casa after all...

.................yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh...............about this........ we might want to reconsider the options.....

I chaired this debate yesterday. I'd like to make two points:

1. I think Knott-Craig's comment was made in jest, joking that he would like to be the chairman of Icasa in light of the fact that he is also CEO of Vodacom Group.

2. Paris Mashile's contract only expires in June 2010. I think it is unlikely that he will voluntarily leave before then. Certainly, I can't see him leaving while Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri is communications minister (which, barring unforeseen circumstances, she will be until at least the next election in 2009). For whatever reason, it's clear that Mashile enjoys Matsepe-Casaburri's support.

Ivy & Paris - incompetent narcoleptics of the same feather flock together :D.

PS: Thanks for clarifying yesterday's jestiferous exchanges between Paris Mashile & AK-C :).

Thanks for clarifying things up. :)

Will retract my posting. :)

Well, anything I think is better than the bunch of clowns we currently have running the show. So if Alan Knott-Craig does ever run for ICASA chairman, he sure as hell has my vote

It will never happen while Ivy is still running amuck and making sure that only people who look like her have a monopoly on regulation:
Poison Ivy said:
if looking like Ivy means looking generally gormless and displaying visible signs of incompetent narcolepticism, then the CEO of South Africa's largest & most successful cellular network operator, will definitely not fit into Paris Mashile's shoes...
