Some more news:

The project, which will have a price tage of $700-million, or nearly R5-billion, is aimed at reducing telecoms costs in South Africa, as well as the rest of the continent.

South African telecoms incumbent Telkom currently holds monopoly rights on access to and pricing of international bandwidth on the current Sat-3 submarine cable undersea cable.
