Can iBurst keep you binding to the debit order agreement on the 24 month contract? In general they proved to be untrustworhty to have access to your bank account with their incompetent account dept.:mad:

If you cancel out of a 24 month contract, the remaining amount should be taken in a lump sum rather than take the monthly surely?

I would say no they can't as long as you've paid the full 100% contract amount, but then we are dealing with iburst here so anything is possible.:rolleyes:

If you are sure you've paid them in full then just reverse any future debit orders, or if it's a fixed known amount then "load" the debit order so that the bank automatically reject it for you for 6 months.

I actually want to pay them now via EFT or stop order. I have already made arangements with my bank for the 6 months " loading" and is taking other extra precautions to ensure that they don't have access to my bank account.

Easiest is to move your account over to another bank :D

Moving to another bank is not always so easy if you have other accounts/debits and a home loan at your existing bank, besides iburst must get itself sorted out as they cause customers more stress than been connected is worth.

I have been with my bank for over 38 years and I'm dammed if I'll change because of this misfit useless company.

I see there is another clause where by I give them permision to debit any other bank account that is in my name???. How legal is this!! I must confess I did not read this agreement as I was to much in a rush to get rid of the slow analog line, with the empty promise by the misleading ad that iburst is faster that the anolog line. Presently the line is only equal to a ISDN line at 116 kb/sec. I think this is the most greatest mistake I made in my life. Through stupidity I gave little greasy hands access to my bank account by not reading the conditions, which I would not have sign if I knew.

I have to agree it is probably the greatest mistake you made since I know it is the greatest mistake I've ever made, except I never saw the contract form or conditions, nor did I ever sign for anything including the modem.:mad:

See that lastest news article, where they where told to NOT use "up to 1mb/s" again...

I signed a contract, 24 hellish months, for broadband....now my question is, they say you must honour the contract; granted. But I signed up for #*%&ING BROADBAND, not an ISDN line that drops everything you try download a file bigger than 400 mb. I signed up for customer service, for ANY service...I get jack ****!

My question, if the other party, is not delivering on their part of the contract, can't it be voided? They can get bent if they think I'll pay the R8-9K settlement.

They've covered themselves with the small print in the conditions so whether you like it or not you are going to have to pay up the full amount for the 24 month even if you don't use their system.

Best you can do is "bite your lip" until your contract is finished and then cancel during the 2nd last month, that way you can leave them on the last day of your 24 month contract.
Just make sure all payments are up to date before you cancel or they'll charge you for every month after your contract until you have paid them in full.

You are dealing with what I would term "the worst sharks" I've ever come across in this country and I've been around a long time.

Did you mean 116kbps? Because I'd love to see a 116KB/s ISDN line...

he is correct with 116 kb/sec as opposed to 116kB/sec. Your KB/sec is incorrect.

kilo = k (small letter)
byte = B (capital)
bit = b (small letter)

I am presently consulting a lawyer regarding this subject. I will rather pay him that fee than to have blood suckers get away with it. It will also provide other consumers with an assurance that if iBurst cannot deliver for what they agreed and promised to, then you don't need to pay. Will keep you posted:mad::mad::mad:
