ok, i must be one of the few people that didnt really have a problem with sentech - that was up until recently. 5 days ago i attempted to check my mail which was a complete balls-up. Eventually after thinking it was everything from my pc to my operating system i decided to phone nowire support who basically didnt know what the hell was wrong. so after much deliberation i formatted my pc, reinstalled EVERYTHING and tried again - still nothing (well if downloading a .doc at 0.1kbs is something then well...) Tonight finally i managed to surf pretty well but when i attempted to open utorrent and download i still got the crappy 0.1kbs and less...what is happening any ideas? i have a desktop modem, was on the classic package so i dont really know what cap i have now and my modem is connected via the ethernet cable to a linksys wrt54gl router which i can access via both my pc and notebook. just stating something, for 2 years up until 5 days ago everything was fine, pretty decent download rates and no connection issues...help?

I feel your pain. I'm not 'happy' with their service but until someone can offer me 20 gigs international (there's nothing local I want/need. I'm also on private international torrent trackers.) for R699 that gives me full p2p speeds, I'll be riding this train until its last stop.

Have you tried using a different tower. This sometimes works for me. Were you also downloading the doc through utorrent? Maybe it's not a very well seeded torrent. I've also had problems logging on to the mail server in the last couple of days. Oh, and don't bother calling noservice.

I think formatting your pc is a very drastic step, I would have first checked if I have the same problem on my notebook.

People stop complaining.... These fools don't even read your posts they are to dumb to realize that actual people post on this forum even if they did they to f$#@king stupid to fix anything... I also have a problem with my email for like a month now and im using Microsoft office outlook because i don't have outlook express on my os witch is sp3... Anyway the guys i called didn't even know what Microsoft outlook was i mean how stupid can you get?

Hi guys

Unfortunately I have had similar issues in Durban for the past few months. The service is either slow (similar to what you mentioned above) or down. There are only a few days in the month where I will average 300 kb/s which is far lower than the promised 1mb/s. My signal is fine and I think that it is a problem at their end. There was one glorious day a few weeks ago when I got the full 1 mb/s for the whole day, constantly. It was truly wonderful and makes me hope that we finally get some decent fixed broadband in South Africa...
