Hi Guys

Ok I have a question...I have a motherboard with 8 SATA connections (4 SATA1 and 4 SATA2, red and yellow) Heres a link to my motherboard.

Problem is that I have no idea which colour is for what speed...or even if there is a difference. No where in my mother board book does it say which is which.

Any help Thanks

Thanks very much. The cables i have are also those colours but i've seen black, blue and clear colour cables.

Anyway it confused me as the cables are identical except for the colour.

Is there anyway in testing?

Yellow is the slower cable. (1.5gbs)
Red is the 3Gbs one
According to Gigabyte Motherboards

Uh... I'm fairly certain the red ports are for RAID, and the yellow ports are non-raidable ports. Your manual should have more details on the chipset. They should both be the same speed (not counting raid increases/decreases)

so...uh...which is it?

PS thanks for more confusion

My bad, didn't see the 4 port specification. So the faster one is the nForce4 chipset ones
