8950GX2, 8900GTX and 8900GTS

Wait ... this doesn't seem like it will be better than the current 8800Ultra ... am I wrong ... or is it true? (I'm speaking about the 8900GTX not 8950GX2)

PCI-e has nothing to do with the speed of the card. Current PCI-e 16X slots have more than enough bandwidth to handle current as well as next generation cards.
 
i dont think there's such a thing as pci-e 2, or is there? these kits better come soon, i've dragged my dx10 purchase for long now ... glad i haven't bought yet tho ;)
 
Oh noo, both ATI and Nvidia main-stream/mid-range products underperform horribly!
Nowhere near even a 8800GTS 320mb.
Plus that's just the gt, not even 8600gts, which is not much better regardless.
 
I don't hope that pci-e 2 is coming any time soon cos that will mean new motherboard again.Don't have money for it:(

As for the new geforce would love to have one:rolleyes: but will never be able to afford one:mad:But looking at the bright side when the new geforce comes the geforce 8800 price will drop yay.;)

You mean you won't have to upgrade your graphics card cause the PCI-e 2 motherboard is backwards compatible. I bet you that the PCI-e 2 cards won't work with a PCI-e 1 port but the other way round will.
 
LOL! pci-e 3.0 has been announced and is in the works, all these new pci-e products do is add faster transfer rates, so there won't be any bottle necking from the mobo, but, i don't thin you'll see much increase as the bottle necking from the cpu will kill every thing... amd and intel better dam well have some monster cpu's in the works... link
