56kMan needs new monitor.
56kMan is looking at 22"+ and widescreen.
1.)Any recommendations guys?

2.) 56kMan would like to know if these screens can run as low as 50Hz.
3.) 56kMan would also like to know if the screens can run at 1920x1080@100Hz

1) Samsung 226BW or HP w2207.
2) Refresh rates don't matter on LCDs.
3) Nope, 1680x1050 is native res for all 22"ers. Higher sizes will give you 1920x1200 not 1920x1080 since it's a 16:10 aspect ratio as opposed to TVs that have a 16:9 aspect.

An LCD doesn't flicker like a CRT so there's no need to 'refresh'. Refresh rates are only important when looking at CRTs.

You should be looking for specs like response time(<5ms is good) and contrast ratio(>2000:1 is good (dynamic)).

refresh rate matters for video
pal will jerk at 60hz and ntsc will jerk at 50hz
can these monitors do 50hz?

How about this little 24-inch: 1920 by 1200 pixels beauty. Wont be disappointed when you see Aperture running on it. :)

Take an LCD.

Only drawbacks I can think of now are possible backlight bleed (where you can see the light escaping the edges of the LCD) and inferior black levels to CRT (only irritating if playing in a dark scene in a game or movie).
