So I pop down to my friendly local iStore and they've got the new glossy 20" and 24" iMacs on display... but they have the 'old' keyboard attached.
So I ask the sales guy what gives? He says that the new slimline keyboard will be available as an "option". Also the uber version with the 2.8Ghz processor isn't available yet.

So it's not enough that Core screws us on the pricing, but they are too cheap to sell the product the same way that it ships to them. What a bunch of miserable b@stards!

The keyboards & mice do not come shipped with the units. They supply these to suit the local keyboard map.

It looks like they're either getting rid of spares or just forgot to order the proper ones.

I went down to the Waterfront Apple store recently and they didn't have ANY of the new ones.
..
..

It never ceases to amaze me the things businesses get up to in this country.

So not only is it more than 60% more expensive here, but they also screw you with the keyboard.

Core are just another typical South African business. Completely and utterly pathetic.

Could be a matter of self preservation - when people see the massive markup they might be tempted to behead the salesman with that razor thin keyboard.

I see they are now advertising the alu-mac WITH a nice pic of the razor keyboard supplied as standard (apple.co.za).. Maybe you should speak to that sharp salesman again. Give him a printout and some paper cuts at the same time :D
