Can anyone help me with this application installed on the phone? I have had the phone for about 3 months now and the Symantec subscription has expired apparently and every time I turn on my phone, it forces it self open and wants me to 'enter a licence code' or 'Buy 365-day License - Euros 18' or 'Buy 30-day license - Euros 2' but does not give me an option to suppress this or uninstall application from my phone.

I am not sure but from what I know, there are no known phone viruses although they have had proof of concept. The lady at MTN seem to think there are viruses transmitted via Bluetooth but I personally have not heard of any.

Is there a way to get rid of this processor hungry application from the phone?

Thanks for your help

Symantec, Norton? On a mobile phone?! The poor thing. I stay as far away from them as possible. Their software tend to have a few key problems:
1)Resource hungry
2)Trouble to remove aplication without it taking the whole Operating system with it.
3)It's norton.

You have some bucket loads of #2 above. You should be able, technically speaking, to remove this aplication. Somehow. I am afraid I dont know how. Dont have a N70 you see.

Tell that MTN lady she is "agter die klip". If you turn your bluetooth off while you are not using it, you should be ok. Anyways, those bluetooth virusses only affected some older model phones with bluetooth. But rather be carefull.

Good Luck!

You should be able to delete this application from the phone. Go to settings, applications and delete it from there.
It will not appear again when you switch the phone on again. Hope this helps

Symantec antivirus

Hi, can anyone help me remove Symantech from a N70? Thought I'd be clever and subscribed but now my phone is so damn slow the Nokia hands don't even come up on start up, and the jingle also breaks up. Even browsing through gallery takes minutes. Or is this something else??
