Hi.

I was just wondering if someone could recommend me the next best card to go for.
A customer bought a XFX 8800 Ultra XxX from me ... but it was problematic, so we swopped it and it was still problematic. I think there was a problem with the batch. Well anyway, Axiz isn't bringing these in anymore due to problems ... so now I need to give my customer the next best thing.
I was thinking the Asus 8800 Ultra ... what are your thoughts?
Is there going to be a big or a minor performance difference ... and does anyone know how much less the framerates would be on the Ultra as opposed to the XXX in a game used for benchmarking?

Thanks

Itai

Does the XXX Version come with porn? What's the difference between them?

768MB XFX 8800 Ultra XXX, PCI-E(x16) Mem 2300MHz, GPU 675MHz, 128 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I/HDTV

768Mb Asus 8800 Ultra, PCI-E (x16), Mem 2160 MHz, GPU 612 MHz,128 Pipes/Stream, 2x DL DVI-I/HDTV

The MSI is probably the closest to that clock speeds
768MB MSI 8800 Ultra, Overclocked, PCI-E(x16), Mem 2300MHz, GPU 660MHz, Dual Link DVI/HDTV

Both is from very good quality brand names.the performance will be minor different. But nothing u will realize in a game.Unless u do a benchmarking on the cards i don't think u will even detect a performance increase or decrease.

Is the MSI a really good reliable name like Asus and XFX ito gfx cards?

MSI is a good reliable name I think, same league as Gigabyte

GO for ASUS, has not failed me yet.

Personally i believe the 8800 Ultra is a waste of money, but if the client is right, the client is right!

IT's cheaper and better performance to get 2x 8800GTS's (about R2000 cheaper)

Lol ... well he has already paid for it ... so I just need to get a replacement for it

I say give him the Asus, good make and he can always tweak the card to get the same clock speeds as the XFX XXX.

Your other option is to go for a EVGA or BFG version. They are both very good graphic card makes

Also ... the card must be able to handle a high resolution of 2560 and a gaming resolution of either 1600 or 1920 ... so which do you guys think will be the more reliable option.

EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra SuperClocked SILENT 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
GeForce 8800 Ultra core running at 655MHz
Shader Clock Speed of 1660MHz
768MB GDDR3 Memory running at 2250MHz

Not sure who stocks them, this one is roughly the same as the XXX one

Ya ... I just wish I knew who stocks them.

Is there a way to create a poll in this forum ... then I will put up the different cards ... and see which one gets the best votes.
