Sahara Holdings and Simeka BSG has entered into a broad based merger agreement. This merger sees the formation of a R1.5-billion IT giant. Sahara Holdings will be the majority shareholder in this agreement and it gives Sahara Holdings automatic status, as a listed company on the JSE through the process of reverse listing. This will all come together as soon as a few regulatory and statutory requirements are fulfilled.
Commenting on the deal Mr Atul Gupta Chairman and MD of Sahara Holdings, says the merger enables the holdings group’s subsidiaries to leverage off the now well established Sahara brand and Simeka’s service capabilities to enhance the value proposition to all its clients. Mr Atul Gupta continued “Simeka BSG works closely with Channel Partners and this deal is going complement Sahara’s IT product offerings and create cross selling opportunities for resellers”
Simeka BSG is currently structured within four vertical pillars, namely Consulting; Applications and Implementation; Assembly and Manufacturing; Technology Solutions and Support, all working together to deliver a complete customer solution.
This together with Sahara’s strong brand and distribution capability makes the merged operation a truly significant giant in the IT environment on the African continent and abroad. This will in effect also enhance the company’s drive to achieve tier one status for the Sahara brand.
The ‘Proudly South African’ Sahara Group has built its strength on long term customer support and loyalty. Sahara remains fully committed to continue bringing affordable high-tech ICT product and solutions to the channel.
