Windows Live Messenger Remote Assistance

I want to be able to connect to my mom's comp via Messenger's Remote Assistance. I have a Billion Router and she has the Mega 100 WR. What settings do we need to adjust? At the moment, even with Windows Firewall off, it doesn't connect.

AFAIK you need to enable remote assistance on both pc's.

Press Windows key (the key with windows picture on your keyboard) and Pause. Look through the options.

I don't think you need to change settings ;)
 
on ur mums comp, enable remote assistance
My Computer\right click\properties\remote tab then enable remote assistance

Now ask them to request assistance
 
thanks - will try that. Is there nothing that needs to be changed in the modem/router settings?

It seems to work better than the Messenger Remote Service.
 
just check that ports 3389 is not blocked in the router setup
