Anyone know whre to get one and what the price would be?

Think it is a d620 if im not mistaken

As I understand it, there is a new HSDPA version release on the way in 2 months time.

I am wondering if it might be wise to hold off on the buy until somebody else can confirm. Maybe a laptop with the new hardware might be worth the wait.

Also look at the HP NC6400...

I saw the D630 on the paper yesterday - looks great with 120G Hard Drive and 2MB of memory.

My wife has the D620 from Vodacom

As far as I know they are available already. They come with a Vodafone SIM card already in.

It's also the 430/630/830 series as the X20's are old now.

Could you not just upgrade the firmware, surly it would just be a new instruction set and not new hardware?

Could be. In fact I am sure it should bloody well be! But I am hoping there are forumites with outright confirmation. :)

It's actually a module that is installed. I know this because I spoke to our account manager ealier this year and the module was costed at around 1100.

They were only allowed to release it after a certain date when the correct testing was done and authorisation was granted by ICASA etc.

It is available here now, I know this for a fact. You have to request it in a laptop as it doesn't come standard.
