Unable to open jpeg files after copying to flash drive

I am attempting to copy a folder with 50 jpeg files to a 2 gig flash drive on my pc. The files copy across correctly but when I try to open one of them on either my pc or laptop I get a message from Nero or Irfanview that the program does not support this type of file. I have checked and they are still jpeg files. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks
 
Seems like a rights issue. Did you flick the protect data switch on the flash drive perhaps? It should still allow reading, but might be that the software you use wants to write something on the flash like an album file or something...
