Best Cheap Xvid player for tv

HI,

What is the best cheap xvid/divx player for tv. I see that most tend to be around a thousand rand for the base model (without harddrive).

Taking price into account, what do you think has the best
price/performance.

Part of me thinks if you going to spend R2000 on something like this you might as well build a proper but basic media center pc.
 
The Woxster is shyte, I bought one and took it back.

The best I've seen in action is the Showcenter 200 by Pinnacle.
 
Simple solution? R400 Hyundai Divx player from Hi-Fi Corp. It has USB slot. Get lekker 8GB flash drive and off you go!

Hi Fi Corp has a Philips 5965K dvd player with a USB 2.0 slot that plays Divx files for R490.00. It is also an upscaling hdmi dvd player that you can hack to be region free and the picture quality is fantastic. I've hooked it up to external harddrives and it works perfectly. definately worth a try. It has a digital audio out, stereo RCA out, HDMI out, Component out and composite out.

I would like to find one that allows firmware upgrades. So it can keep up with any changes to the divx/xvid codecs.

Does the philips support firmware upgrades?

yeah, if you want a lot of information, the american version is the 5960. They allready have the update (5982) there, but our update is not here yet, nor will it be for some months (5986K).
