Option GT Max 3.6 Data Card

I have an Option GT Max 3.6 Data Card and have GlobeTrotter Connect (Version 2.0.0.388) installed. When I insert the data card into my laptop, Windows XP recognises it and installs the drivers. However all that happens is the purple light just flashes (no pattern) and GlobeTrotter Connect displays the message "Searching For Network...."
Any ideas on how to get this unit working?
