Huh? I don't get it. Why are they trying to encourage this by rewarding it?

I log in through a router, and generally just leave my connection open as long as it remains working. Why do they want people to log in multiple times? Why does it have to be via the dashboard v2?
 
maybe they are able to throttle you even more if you connect with it :D
 
Ohhhh, extra 500MB that you can only browse email with anyway, wonderful!

Same problem here. My entire home network is wireless, too. No way I'm going to bypass the network for an extra 500MB - for one month.

You can be sure of one thing..................and that is making you use that dumb dashboard of theirs will give them more control over your excessive bandwidth usage............:eek:

Well according to the dashboard readme, the desktop ethernet modem is not compatible :confused:
 
Hahha, so only USB?

I was thinking of logging in quickly 5 times to get 500MB, but having to download that rubbish and install it... hmmm.
 
Damn the new dashboard is ugly and obtrusive. I wonder what elements of the new dashboard are recording whether its being used or not.

Precisely - why do they want you to use the dashboard?

Something doesn't feel right here... :rolleyes:

Our software doesn't have the intelligence to open and use the dashboard, nevermind reconnecting after a connection loss... :rolleyes:

The dynamic dns service client from dyndns.org manages the connection, reconnecting after a connection loss.

Just another *** software that slows your PC down...
 
I think it will slow the pc down and it can maybee spy on your computer because they must get some communication with the software to know if you are connected with it.

I won't use it and I dont trust the the software

One thing you can be sure of and that is if iburst offer you a free 500MB for running that software it means they're up to no good that only they will benefit from in the long run.:rolleyes:
 
Would Netlimiter show any extra traffic coming from the dashboard? A more realistic reason why they want you to use it is probably support. Its alot easier explaining to some old tannie, install the software and click on the green Connect button rather than giving her the walkthrough on setting up a PPoE connection.
 
Yeah it will be better for support but those people you referring to “old tannie” already use the dashboard. It looks like they want the power users to use the dashboard as well. The email just doesn’t sit right with me, but next month will be my last so there is no use in trying to get an extra 500mb :p

Fudzy you must be getting great service from them? Your extremely pro iBurst...

Lol, not as much as I used to be following the debtors/accounting debacle. :D Thankfuly so far thats been the only negative service I've recieved from them.

I agree, they shouldn't force you into using it just to get an extra 500mb. Its very fishy.
