Clean install of Vista from an OEM disc.

I recently purchased a Toshiba notebook that came with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. The notebook also had various other programs installed , including Norton anti virus. I have removed what I dont want but would prefer to format and install Vista from scratch. My question is can this be done from an OEM repair and recovery disc and if so, how many times can I do a install? Mike
 
You should be able to do it as many times as you wants, as long as its a genuine Windows Vista and Serial that only you use.
 
As many times as you want as long as you don't change the hardware configuration too much.
 
the notebook will have **** in the bios, the dvd will have matching ****.

as long as the match is made, you can reinstall on that machine 85bazillion times

i.e. dont try another dvd, dont update the bios (unless toshiba give you a vista bios for it)
 
You can change hardware. All that will happen (in some cases) is that you would need to actviate your copy of Windows again.

With oem disc's you are only allowed a certain set of hardware changes. Then you shouldn't according to the license be allowed to reactivate. But off course we all know it's easy to fool the ms call center into giving you a new activation code.

With oem the license is linked to the hardware while with retail disc the license is linked to the owner.

Well when adding hardware I never had a days problem with my XP OEM. Its just when I remove the new hardware that I needed to activate again. Has done this on a number of times and also phone only once (the first time) to get it activated. All of the other times, I used the internet...
