Does anyone know of a FTP site where games/movies are downloadable?

Appreciate your help.

I really doubt anyone locally would host an open FTP server with games and movies to download from (locally ofcourse, international is just too expensive).

But you can download some free games from ftp://ftp.games.saix.net. If it's "shareware" :D you're looking for, rather scour the news servers.
