How is the mentality of this person.

There's plenty evidence that it doesn't [exist], which needs no more argument. Nevertheless people continue to die due to toxic anti-virus drugs and psychological negativity of the people that believe that Aids actually exist… Why do you guys seem to be not ashamed of earning those big bucks with the expense of more innocent, especially black people's lives? Laws of nature normally take care of things like this but we are slightly more civilized in SA now.

This is a direct result of the mixed messages Manto, Thabo and the ANC have collectively sent out to the people of this country, and continent.
Hope they are proud of themselves.
 
The news follows last month's reports on ITWeb that a government employee had attempted to censor information on Wikipedia's page on HIV/Aids in SA.

The employee was traced back to Stats SA. The agency subsequently suspended the employee, pending the outcome of an investigation into the matter.

ITWeb can now exclusively report that the Wikipedia editing was not the first instance of anti-Aids messaging from within Stats SA.

On the attack

E-mails in ITWeb's possession show a Stats SA employee – whose name is known to the editorial team – harassing AFSA and accusing the organisation of misinformation.

Quite scary considering Stats SA employees are supposed to be reasonably objective and follow scientific principles.
 
No that would only be the analysts... the average employee is as biased as the rest of us ;)

Why they haven't fired this moron yet though is unbeievable...
 
there is nothing wrong with updating wikipedia with information you believe is correct. that is the whole point!

imagine someone getting into trouble for saying the universe is not infinite... just because you believe it is, doesn't mean it isn't.

it is unfortunate that it is publicised that he is a Stats SA employee. if he was not acting on behalf of Stats SA, then they should be left out of this.
 
Sounds a lot like our lovable troll. I wonder if this story will bring him from under his bridge?

The idea of wikipedia is that people can add factual information and cite references. Not edit the article because you prefer some delusion to the truth.
 
And if said person was doing it from a Stats SA PC, then he's doing it on behalf of Stats SA, which is a branch of the guavamint.

Andres I agree with you but in this instance he didn't add anything to it he just removed factual information and left insulting sentences instead.. he wasn't adding to the collective...

That's a bit of a stretch don't you think?
He is doing it on behalf of Stats SA if they request him to, otherwise he is just goofing off...
 
It possibly is a bit of a stretch I know, but I just like it cos its an easy option. :p

Personally I'd edit things like Wikipedia on my own time on my own connection, then at least my employer can't be involved in any way...
