I was on potch on friday, and only saw the posters for a meeting tomorrow evening (18th September. But there were a huge truck next to the road in von welligh, brandishing a huge four colour, and these two black teens running around putting up posters of the meeting to stop the name change
But the people are all very unhappy with the mayor and he's idiot puppet Kaizer Mohau. Absolutely no one likes them. So its easy to find the mayors house in potch, its the one with the highest walls and the most security

The municipality in potch is a bunch of idiots, especially the mayor. Even the people in the township hate him, last year they had a massive march, we thought it was in support of the name change.
What a pleasant surprise when fe found out that, they demanded the head of the mayor, and asked that he stop this foolishness of changing the name, and use the money where it is needed. And yet he still claims that the majority wants the name change
If I were those folks I would use paint that washes off easily. You want to convey a message, not damage property. I wonder if a legal expert can tell me if it is illegal to cover a wall with something that litterally just be washed down with water? Surely there is no damage, then no damages can be claimed?
I am very excited if people take it upon themselves to make their discontent known. As a minority, you will never ever have a majority vote to rely on and cannot do anything but voice your concern in the media (if it listens) or with acts of revolt like this. Think about it? Your whole community has a problem with something, yet your voice cannot be heard because the majority is against you? Common sense cannot always be found on the side of majorities.
In fact majorities only rarely get things right by accident!
We need the majority to tell the ANC government to force reductions in telecoms pricing, yet it isn't happening. Why not? Simple, the majority doesn't know what is good for them...

I think some people here do not demonstrate any element of maturity. Having read some of the postings on this message boards, I feel people are only sending racial statements - for instance to say the EM of Tlokwe is hated by many its a lie and total stupidity - majority of people in our city likes the EM because they voted for his Party not the DA - finally here is an advice - Stop insulting people because they only do their job- under apartheid we never said you guys are stupid but we simply challenged your politics and we won I wonder if you expect to win in this batlle of the name change?

Antowan - I think in principle I agree with especially considering that our constitution allows people to echo their views when they are not satisfied - but with all honesty, can we promote vandalism and anarchy in the name of airing views? Can we promote racism which is what has dominated these protest in Potch? all in the name of expressing our differences? I do not agree with this.

Again, worked, and still works for the ANC, doesn't it? They talk the non-racial, rainbow society talk, but they do everything down racial lines, they teach, uhm, no, force by law, everybody to see everything in black and white, make descisions based upon skin colour.
The two facedness of the ANC and their supporters never ceases to amaze me. During the Apartheid years they went around the world talking other countries into putting sanctions in place against S.A. but now describe sanctions (against Zimbabwe) as wrong and inhumane.
They place great importance in preserving and honouring "our" past, yet they're happy to piss all over the Afrikaner's history and heritage.
