French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner says the world should prepare for war over Iran's nuclear programme.

Mr Kouchner said negotiations with Iran should continue "right to the end", but that an Iranian nuclear weapon would pose "a real danger for the whole world".

I could agree more.
But Mr Kouchner said even in the absence of UN action, the European Union should prepare its own sanctions against Iran.

"We have decided while negotiations are continuing, to prepare eventual sanctions outside the ambit of UN sanctions. Our good friends, the Germans, suggested that," he said.

Iran has warned that any new punishments could push it to stop co-operating with the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The IAEA's members meet this week in Austria, with Iran likely to top the agenda.

Ahmadinejad is actually not all that psycho.

Besides, he's definitely not the grandfather of Iran's nuclear program and there is still no evidence that they're trying to build nuclear weapons.
 
Maybe you'd care to explain why there's still 25 000 Jews living in Iran and why they all refuse to leave.

And then maybe you'd care to explain how Ahmadinejad is not actually the head honcho of Iran. You can do that, right?

The point being that if Ahmadinejad was really the 2nd Hitler, why has he donated funds to Jewish charities?

Nobody said he was a nice guy, but the man is obviously a politician, and he will do what he needs to in order to save his own skin. This is almost the polar opposite of a radical unthinking fundamentalist.

to make nuclear power... u need 300 centrifuges.. nothing more..
yet iran claim to have 4000...
3000 or more r needed only for use in nuclear weapons, as thats the number of centrifuges needed to make 'A' grade uranium

actually to put icing on the cake....

Iran has massive oil reserves to supply REALLY cheap power all the time... meaning that nuke power is a waste of money.....

Secondly Iran had a nuclear reactor before the islamic revolution... but they destroyed it during the start of the revolution, claiming it was evil western technology....
so y the sudden change of heart :rolleyes:

It's entirely relevant becuase it proves that muslims can and have co-existed peacefully along peoples practicing other religions without trying to opress or convert them.

This in turn shows that when the opression attempts occur, you cannot point the finger at the religion alone, and must seek other reasons to explain the behaviour.

And no one said Iran's laws weren't barbaric. But then why is everyone quiet about Saudi Arabia when it is MUCH the same if not even worse? Israel routinely commits human rights atrocities and this action routinely gets the support of the US. Not that the US are a bunch of angels either. Guess which western nation to has executed minors (just one of those human rights abuses you quoted)?

And btw, Admitting you're wrong about something may decrease the credibility of your POV, but in turn it increases your integrity as a debater. There's nothing wrong (and much right) with admitting a mistake when you've made it.

Now as for the other claims :

It does't really say how many centrifuges Iran would need to have their entire power grid from nuclear energy. Just because those centrifuges could make nukes doesn't mean that's what they're going to be used for.

But it certainly does prove that currently Iran is in no position to build nukes. Thus no attack is imminently neccessary for the forseeable future.

dont u think there is a chance that iran may be trying to have a long-term goal of nuke weapons?

and dont u think if not, that iran r provocative in giving many signals that make u think they were making nukes?
