MPC could hike SA interest rates: economist

You mean more bad news for people with debt....

A lot of people had comfortable debt 18 months ago and now it has become a serious problem....

I hate interest rates :(
 
Well it would take numerous interest rate hikes before they actually realise they are not really helping, and only contributing to the increase in inflation.
 
Interest rate hikes do wonders for decent investment portfolios.
I'm so glad I don't own money to anyone outside of my family - let them hike the rates as much as they like. :D

What I find interesting is that the price of diesel keeps going up more than petrol - it used to be the other way around a year or two ago.
Do you think the government are trying to protect their fuel levy, gravy train because lots of people are switching to diesel powered vehicles?

The two biggest contributors to current inflation are fuel and food prices. Interest rates have basically bugger-all influence over these.

All the hikes in enterest rates will do is slow economic growth
