Hi there, I am a new DSTV subscriber and my SABC channels are chopping, ie. the sound cuts and i see a disturbance in the video, consistently, every 2 or 3 seconds. It's unwatchable.
Has anyone experienced this???
HELP!!!

It's either a problem with the installation or bad weather. If it isn't weather, you could give DSTV a call:
For all technical, accounts and programming enquiries:
* 083 900 DSTV (3788) *VAS rates apply
* Johannesburg: (011) 289-2222
* Pretoria: (012) 422-2222
* Cape Town: (021) 508-2222
* Durban: (031) 710-2222
* Port Elizabeth: (041) 395-2222
* Bloemfontein: (051) 503-2222

Happens when there is a storm in Randburg or where you are.. If not, re-align your dish and check LNB
If the signal is over 85%, then your stuff is OK

So if its bad weather is will only affect his SABC channels?
Even as a person who knows NOTHING about DSTV stuff I find that unlikely...

I agree, very strange indeed!! Now for the even more daunting task though, getting my MCE PC set up with mediaportal to change channels on my decoder. Can anyone point me in the right direction? :D I have a MCE IR blaster but not sure how to do it or if it can be done in mediaportal
