If the big kid on the block does this what will the little ones do?

They've been doing dirty things for ages. You think the Taliban played fair when they kidnapped a group of Korean missionaries and killed two of them in cold blood? What about a 15 year old they hung recently? What about the Chechens who are very similar. They butcher a school full of children.

Nah.... taking of the kit gloves will only make these thugs think twice before
attacking western interests.

at least it was not very severe interrogations... or even worse... very very severe interrogations
 
Yeah, at least its not torture or anything.

If America is supposed to be the world leader or "father"of the world, protector of civil rights and bla bla bla... And they use extraordinary rendition and torture to get their info, then they are no better than the "freedom"fighters they are trying to apprehend.

There are more intelligent ways of getting information than torture. If you hurt someone long enough they will tell you what you want to hear. And that information could get innocent people killed.

Those instigating the torture don't want to use other methods. This is not just about preventing terrorism, it is about effecting revenge. Some may even be deluded enough to think it will frighten terrorist organisations.

Considering the US historical support for brutal dictators their current behaviour is not anything new.
 
It is a vicious circle that a country like america should be able to get out of. If you torture your enemy do not expect him to do any less to your people when they are captured or kidnapped. As a world leader america is setting the worst example.

At least in America you can appeal, they also have due process and they won't just interrogate people for the sake of doing so, but rather to get results. A Taliban sob will just blow himself up in a crowded market or
train.

I'm sure that the people who will do the interrogating are not stupid morons.
Since the Yanks have the most $$$ to spend on this I would expect they would have the best educated interrogators.

Some female interrogators stripped down to their underwear and rubbed themselves against their prisoners. Pornographic magazines and videos were also used as rewards for confessing.

In one session a female interrogator took off some of her clothes and smeared fake blood on a prisoner after telling him she was menstruating. 'That's a big deal. It is a major insult to one of the world's biggest religions where we are trying to win hearts and minds,' Saar said.

Ah Erik Saar. I recall the Washington Post claimed he stated Korans were "routinely tossed Korans on the ground" and then had to retract that statement. Bit like Newsweek and their "Koran flushed down the toilet" lie which also had to be retracted :o

Not in Guantanamo.

If some CIA hotshot feels like he could prevent another 9/11 & make his career then the legal side is not going to feature.

If it's to horrific to allow on people who are into children chopping men’s heads off with knives how could a nice guy(comparatively :D) like you hope to survive :sick:
