not really, the problem is that alot of the 'black' middle class, with the instant wealth, jump onto the credit bandwagon buying the latest GTI, bmw 1 series and erm chrysler
And whites don't?
The definition of middle class is "can get credit, and do - despite affordability".

More education and more jobs.
There are tons of jobs out there, just not enough skills to go around. And this "premium salary" nonsense is just not sustainable.
So far more emphasis should be placed on QUALITY education.

There is still a gap in jobs between the unskilled and professional job spheres. The artisan type jobs need to be increased and filled with experienced staff (this being the realm of the true working/middle class).
When referring to education, quality shouldn't even need to be mentioned; it should be a given!!!

I think the arcticle is implying that a larger percentage of the black diamond and in trouble then other race groups.

I've observed that a lot of people buying from Woolworth Foods tend to use credit. Totally unnecessary!
I've also noticed it, and i totally agree. Matter of fact, i don't see the need for a woolworths store card at all.
There's absolutely nothing worth getting on credit at woolworths.Roo!

I buy from WW on my credit card, but that's because I but everything on my credit card. I'd rather have the shops pay for my bank charges than me. I do, of course, pay it off every month (well almost).

Whats scary is that they've sent me both a Truworths & Woolworths credit card through the mail without my asking for either. Talk about an aggressive marketing strategy.
I use my credit card alot, but I always keep a positive balance in it. Helluva lot easier than carrying loads of cash on me.
I saw recently that the Dept of Education has finally started to look abroad for suitably qualified Maths and Science teachers.
Took them long enough though but a good move for sure.
Our government really needs to shift its focus and fast. Education is key, broadband is a massive driver for education.
Just the other day there were press reports of students in rural KZN complaining that they do not have libraries in their areas so they cannot cross reference or do the work they are tasked to do. They cannot ask their parents because they are illiterate.
Come on ANC lets light a fire under IVY's fat ass.

The only reason there aren't maths and science teachers in SA is because DoE won't pay them what they're worth. Are they going to pay the imports better than our home grown teachers? If not, what is the incentive for them to come here?

That's the best way to it. What i've also noticed is that women luuuurve store cards. My gf's got one each for Woolworths, truworths, foschini, Jet(I think), and a whole lot of others, and she won't let them go.
