Anyone else suffering from load shedding?

Is this another example of house South Africa is becoming "Africanised"? What idiot did not foresee 10 years ago that a shortage of electricity might occur if you do f$%*all and don't built or maintain your power stations? Its summer for sods sake! Thats the problem with Africa - not foresight to plan for the future.
 
I worked for Eskom at the time when elctrification was in full swing and the engineers who mentioned a future lack of supply were silenced
 
George had from 8 - 10:30 am this smorning, knysna from 10 - 12:30 apparently, i do know they are off now, they says george is over for today but knysna can have for 16:00 - 18:30pm, buncha idiots
 
Lets go stone some motorists and ransack our town centers to show our displeasure :cool:

Sounds like the new South Africa. If you ignore the problem for long enough maybe it will go away?

I honestly do believe what you say, and to anyone qualified it would have been obvious (of course that doesn't apply to Eskom management, now does it?).
 
Pretoria seems to be carrying the bulk of the shedding, with announcements on tshwane.gov.za about continuing today. I just fail to see why this is not the case in bigger cities like Jhb and CPT?

I have been considering taking up a career in crime, but only targetting high profile politicians and business leaders... Maybe now I should loadshed their houses for them as well? :D

Sandton was out during rush hour! :eek: Can you imagine? My area in Randburg is now out... All in JHB.
 
What doesn't make sense to me is the fact that only the "rich" neighbourhoods in Pretoria is being targeted (those that actually pay their electricity bill)...

Mamelodi had power all of yesterday while Silver Lakes were shut down for most of the day.

Makes you think...
 
Load Shedding

We were down in Gillitts since 18h15 on 9th. Power only just came back on at 10h30 on 10th. Moved across to Hillcrest to do some work at 09h00 and power went down there at 11h00. Bummer ... damn Eskom or Durban Electricity! The power outages have screwed up security at home big time - essentially we were vulnerable 6 hours into it.
 
There are three stages (all brown - is that cos Eskom is k@kking their pant?) Brown 1, Brown 2, Brown 3. How the hell do I know which stage we're in at the moment?
 
In addition to students protesting outside the gates, the University of Johannesburg main campus is also currently experiencing a power failure. I assume the two problems are unrelated ; )
 
Power went of this morning at 6:30!! Does wonders for the traffic on the N1, not so much for the traffic on Zambesi Drive. Had to fill up with fuel, had to drive to Watermeyer in order to get a pump that was not overrun or had power. These load shedding must do wonders for the economy i.t.o. productivity.

Eskom only thinks in terms of their back pockets... What do they car if you're inconvenienced?

Fire the lot of them! Lets go picket Eskom with our "comrades"! :mad:

Uh, cos its stoopid? Or to quote Dennis Hopper: "do not attempt to grow a brain." I think that may have been taken to literally by certain people in this country!

You need to contact your local Metro/Municipality for detail load shedding schedules if you are a Metro/Municipal customer. However, Cape Town Metro has supplied us with their own load shedding schedules which can also be searched on this site, per suburb:"

I've never understood the logic behind it myself, don't think there is any though. A bit like burning the trains because they're late, is that going to put them back on schedule?
 
This is really 3rd world crap that we have to deal with load shedding 2 bloody days in a row. I have VIP work to do on the PC and now I have to sit and suck eggs while I wait. I think that loose bolt and wet coal is stuck up Eskom's ass.
