Deputy home affairs minister: probe suspended

Hahahah....

Everybody repeat after me: "Welcome to the Banana Republic".

But more seriously, i do agree. It is actually getting slightly out of hand now. Is there not one once of accountablity left in SA politics?

Sorry to disrupt the hand-wringing, but you do realise that the reason the probe was dropped was because there was another one already underway?

It would have been preferable that they dropped the internal home affairs probe in favour of the public protector's probe rather than the other way round, though.

Another probe, but probably in name only, can't say I really trust an ANC parliamentary committee's invetigation of an ANC cabinet minister.

Well, call me crazy, but I tend to prefer that suspected criminals are actually brought before a court and a judge who can throw them in prison if they're guilty.

The best the internal investigation can do is to suspend/fire anyone found guilty of misconduct.

Can I wring my hands now?

Let's see what the National Assembly's home affairs committee's inquiry actually uncovers and what actions they take.

Geez, if it wasn't for the DA we'd have no idea what to get upset about.
