Is Kenya becoming the new India of outsourcing?

Yep, we could have taken a chunk of the global call centre market if it weren't for a certain government backed monopoly. Just one of the ways they have throttled the growth and development of South Africa.

QFT

We (no Goverment) missed the outsourcing train. We could have had 1000s if not MILLIONS of jobs created if they just let other companies compete against Telkom.

But yes.. they rather increase their private bank accounts, than worry about the country.

Certainly looks that way.
They have no accent like the cousins from India, they speak
beautiful clear english with no serious accent.
What is against them as is typical in Africa high bandwidth costs.

Looks like quite a few UK companies have ditched Indian call centers
and have gone back to the UK.
Initiatives like http://www.callingthecape.org must beseverley hampered
by high b/w prices in trying to push SA with Telkom pricing around.

Just because of the DoC and Telkom SA is losing serious business
to other countries. Oh dear
